Effective July 2026. This policy explains how the LEIP platform handles personal information, in line with Lesotho's Data Protection Act, 2011 and the commitments in our Services Agreement.
When a client uploads a membership register for verification against the voter roll, the file is processed in memory and discarded. What remains are anonymous counts per polling station and constituency. No table on the platform records that any named person belongs to any party. The platform's roll matching index contains only salted one-way cryptographic digests with station codes; it holds no names, identity numbers, dates of birth, sex, or any other readable personal attribute. Cross-party comparison of individuals is deliberately impossible.
Aggregate electoral statistics (official results, registration counts, turnout, and station-level totals such as counts by age band and sex, never individual records); platform account details for authorised users (username, role, and hashed credentials); and security audit logs of privileged actions (who generated which report, when, from where), kept to protect the confidentiality of client material.
Electoral data comes from the Independent Electoral Commission of Lesotho, including voter rolls lawfully distributed to contesting parties, from public research sources such as Afrobarometer and the World Bank, and from documents supplied by clients under the Services Agreement.
Information is used solely to provide the contracted analysis. We do not sell data, we do not share client material between clients, and we do not disclose it except as the law requires. Reports are watermarked, classified, and traceable.
Access is role-gated with brute-force lockout, session controls, and audit logging. Confidential outputs carry the identity of the account that produced them.
Authorised users may ask what account information we hold about them and request corrections. Because the platform stores no individual electoral or membership records, there are no such records to access or erase; that is by design. Questions: contact your engagement lead at Data Matrix, Maseru.
